I have spent the last 4 years triaging phone lines for the Whitaker Clinic at UAB for a group of Internal Med MDs. I encourage, Pray, make appts, send to the ER and handle hundreds of emails and calls from thousands of patient needs. Prior to this I worked in the pool in the ICU setting covering 14 different ICUS. As a certified preceptor and weekly have students/orientees/EMTs to work along side me. I have a rare opportunity to increase the level of excitement as I decrease their anxiety about their new chosen career. Current changes to the overall healthcare field allow me to successfully care for some of the most unstable patients in my career. I personally love the challenge.
