Education and Experience Douglas Dean graduated from the Electronic Computer programming Institute of Utah in 1972. He then pursued course work as an electrical engineering major at the University of Utah from 1973 through 1977. Since then, Mr. Dean has had experience in all areas of Information Technology providing business related services such as computer operations, computer programming (including application design, development and maintenance as well as operating system selection, installation, customization and performance tuning), computer capacity planning, disaster recovery planning and testing, and project planning and supervision. This work also including consulting and advising application developers in the design, coding and Y2K remediation of various application programs in languages including Assembler, Cobol, C, C++, Fortran, Focus, SAS, FoxPro, Java and several other special purpose programming languages. From 1997, Mr. Dean has provided systems consulting services in the area of software engineering, network and systems Administration, performance tuning, capacity planning, and systems programming for a variety of clients doing business in the financial services, health care, and Power utility areas. Mr. Dean is owner of Dean Software which was formed in January 2001. Since then, Mr. Dean has worked as a computer forensics analyst, receiving extensive training from Andy Johnson-Laird, founder of JLI, Inc. From 2001, Mr. Dean has provided forensic software analysis in support of trade secret and copyright infringement litigation with software products for IBM OS/390, Sun Solaris and various Linux environments. Mr. Dean also provided software engineering services in support of migration of software products to the GNU Linux environment without being constrained by the GNU General Public License. Mr. Dean has also provided consulting and systems programming work supporting network security, capacity planning, performance tuning, and systems administration in mixed environments containing IBM OS/390, IBM z/OS, Sun Solaris, Linux, VMware, Oracle database products, MS SQL, MySQL, Windows 2012 server, Windows 2008 server, Windows 2003 server, Windows 2000 server, Windows NT server, Windows clients, Mac OS X server, Mac OS X client and FreeBSD. Mr. Dean has received formal training from Mr. Johnson Laird. Mr. Dean has experience in forensic software analysis in the context of copyright and patent infringement as well as issues pertaining to patent validity and misappropriation of trade secrets independent development project design and supervision and the recovery, preservation, and analysis of computer-based evidence. Mr. Dean has joined with JurisLogic LLC as a consultant proving forensic software analysis services. JurisLogic is a direct successor to Johnson-Laird, Inc. (JLI), a firm founded in 1987 by Andy Johnson-Laird and Kay Kitagawa. In Summary, I take pride in knowing I am helping make a positive result with my efforts.
