COVER LETTER: Hi I'm Mercedes Beyoncé Nicholson. I was born on September 18, 2001. I grew up in Rocky Mount NC. I have two brothers I live with a single parent. I'm currently going to Rocky Mount High School. I maintain my grade to a C or above. I love to read and write. I also have some books of my own that I wrote. My freshman year in high school I volunteered at job sites, with Mrs. Rachel Shell. My volunteer jobs were, food lion and Teacher Resource Center (TRC). At (TRC) i did filing and assisting people. While i was at food lion i also bagged food and help people to their cars. I volunteered through 2018 - 2019 The courses that I am taking in high school are microsoft word and powerpoint and financial management. I'm very talented i have done reading clubs. I have done FCCLA in school. When i get older i want to be a journalist and be a news reporter i also want to major in Criminal Justice. My leadership skills with people are great. I believe in friendships and Loyalty. The reason I want to go to school is to succeed. When I was young I didn't grow up with other kids. I grew up poor and un wealthy. I lived in the apartments for half of my life. I want to be successful in life. I have had people encourage me to do better and be better. I want to do better, I want to be a better person than my mom was. Do things that she couldn't do. My mom always told me if you want people to respect you first you respect yourself. On the surface I think I am like the most young and modern American women. I take school seriously. I have dreams and goals for the future that I am determined to make happen. And I don't expect anyone to do the hard work for me. Sometimes a task can seem hard when I try to visualize the entire thing. If you break it down into smaller goals suddenly it can become manageable. When i first started considering going to college so that I could make a better life for myself. I thought that it was going to be almost impossible. I have a disability to where i can't comprehend stuff. There are many challenges facing my generation today. When i think of university, the aspects that most impress me and fan my desire to immerse myself in the prestigious learning environment. My grades have always been high and I am especially proud of this because i don't naturally excel in all in all subjects. Writing has always been a challenge for me because i find grammer often can be confusing. Spelling too I have learned through my involvement with many varsity level sports that quitting never feels as good as. My disabilities have stopped me from doing What I really want to do in life, like getting a job it has stopped me. I would love to become a student at your university
