CollapseDescription

Designed innovative solution. Guse Erickson client had existing 300'x80' rectangular fiberglass roof structure with radius corners had to be revised to accept a new copper/glass roof system with right angled corners. Designed adaptor and collaborated with team on conversion to new roof system. Completed project ahead of schedule. Delivered quality project in one-third less time than planned. Extensive Olson remodeling project was cut from six to four months. Convinced subcontractors that with minimal additional manpower, the date was attainable and their profit margin would increase. Achieved quality of workmanship and met new schedule, receiving bonus. Won over architect with one-off design. Architect called for unusual side board installation on an 80-year old building. Designed drilling template so spacing would be uniform around the building. The architect, a stickler for details, was so impressed with the quality of work that he had same siding installed on his house. Adapted to changing job requirements and saved money. While excavating for new Bio-Tech Lab at University of Illinois-Chicago, an old building foundation was unearthed. Collaborating with the engineer and excavator, utilized old column support footings for the new building, saving thousands of budget dollars for Guse Erickson. Went the extra mile on union job. Provided carpentry support for well-known retail outlet that was remodeling. Learned that GM was not satisfied with new layout design in one of the key departments. Suggested new soffit and lighting layout to better highlight displays. Interior Design Architect agreed and implemented new design into store. Did a "one better" for an executive suite. As union assistant superintendent, installed new cherry wood paneling, trim and doors into c-level business office. Upon inspection, company president asked for new design for his office. Created crown molding mock-up and presented plan to the Interior Designer. Gained approval from President who was impressed enough to request manufacturing and installation be placed under my direction.
