CollapseDescription

Provided Responsibilities included engineering documentation of mechanical and electrical components, drawing review, and assessing drawings for manufacturability, assembly, and installation integrity. Assisted in the development of processes, procedures, and implementation of the transfer of engineering documentation from Engineering and R&D to Manufacturing and Production. SolidWorks was used during the last fourteen (14) years for the creation of all piece parts, assembly models and drawings. Prior to Solidworks, AutoCad release 12 was used. Responsibilities also included Configuration Management using a variety of software packages for all products developed at our facility. * Task: Established an intelligent drawing number system, created eight company specific drawing templates, established a document control system, a drawing release procedure, and a controlled change order process including necessary forms. This also required the creation of appropriate instructional and procedural documentation. Implemented the use of accepted drafting practices, including adherence to documentation standards and configuration management. * Result: All drawings now uniquely identified and located in a controlled environment with a complete revision history. Controlled environment saved time by providing personnel a single location for all engineering documentation. Immediate cost savings realized as all parts were fabricated to complete drawings at correct revisions without confusion to the engineer and the fabricator. * Task: An existing product had an automated positioning fixture that would occasionally stick, this causing a system crash. This required the customer to manually free up the fixture and restart the system. Occasionally, it became necessary for a field service representative to rectify the problem. After analyzing the situation, submitted a modification to the fixture and, upon testing, the modification was shown to have a zero percent failure rate and became standard for the product. * Result: This increased the reputation of the entire product line, due to its appearance in other applications, thus improving product sales. * Task: Assigned to assist new product documentation because product release was three weeks behind schedule. As a "first of its kind", the product was scheduled to be released for demonstration during an international trade show. After redefining the documentation process, the documentation package was completed one week ahead of release date. * Result: The extra week enabled team members to focus on other areas required for product release. The on-time release ensured the company's sole position in the targeted market for this product. * Task: Authored and co-authored at least eight internal process and procedure documents. These documents were targeted for drawing creators and users of associated software. * Result: They provided desired model and drawing creation methods within the parameters of the generating software to ensure the ease of future changes. Procedures also defined proper methods for updating "grandfathered" documentation in accordance with current company standards and specifically defined options as offered by other company accepted standards. analysis for pipeline routing and redesigned pipelines to accommodate new pipeline configurations. AutoCad release 12 in addition to numerous custom menus was used for all drawings. Attended architectural and mechanical drawing reviews maintained Level 1 Radiation Control (RADCON) worker status participated in numerous "field trips" to obtain required information either by physical measurement or geographical surveying. Developed drawings in such areas Responsibilities involved drafting of conduit layout, control panels, and component cabinets for various petrochemical companies. Reviewed electrical schematics and interconnection drawings. Utilized AUTOCAD and many petrochemical company specific menus. as security maintenance repair expansion conceptual design research and development. Maintained Level 1 Radiation Control (RADCON) worker status.
