Our team relocated the entire manufacturing facility that housed over fifty five CNC Swiss-type seven axis machining centers. One QA and metrology department. Plus a fully automated capping, labeling, and packaging cleanroom environment. Including a custom R&D department (Custom-Direct). One tooling department that fabricated custom carbide tooling for production purposes and surgical dental drills kits. Successfully relocated the distribution warehouse from Las Vegas and Calabasas Hills to Thousand Oaks. A team, lead by me, had Manufacturing Operations fully up and revalidated for production in less than ninety days cutting the TAC time in half of what was projected to upper management. Latest Accomplishments: By purposing the procurement of four new Star CNC SV-R20 with a live programmable B axis and four new Star CNC SR20-Type4 Swiss style multi-spindle seven axis machining centers. The new machine tool technology adds to our fifty five Swiss CNC production machines on the manufacturing floor. By designing and developing new custom carbide micro tooling in house on our two new CNC Walter Cutter/Grinder machines in order to reduce tooling cost and decrease vender lead time. Along with the utilization of high pressure coolant systems on every Swiss type CNC machine tool. Developed new process machining strategies incorporating simultaneous machining modes and using logic statements and macro statements to increase productivity. Working as a team, we were able to generate an annual cost savings of 500k per machine by reducing lead times for the average implant component by improving cycle time reduction from six minutes to two and a half minutes. Developed lights out manufacturing techniques by using 3PM Technologies Machine Boss Software and 10-G sensor devises mounted on every machine tool. This software listens to harmonic frequencies generated by the machining process in order to detect tool ware, by measuring vibrations and power signatures coming from cutting tools, electronic motors, and servo amps. A desired threshold would invoke a macro redundant tool call to reduce down time for tool replacement and servo amp replacement. Added fire suppression systems to all CNC machine tools for safely machining titanium with high pressure low flash point cutting fluids during the unattended shift.
