Description
COVER LETTER: Dear Sir or Madam, Since I was young, my interests always have revolved around technology. Following high school, I attended college at the Milwaukee School of Engineering to pursue education in electrical engineering for two years. Due to events of the time, I joined the United States Navy in 1967 and spent 2 years in active duty serving in Vietnam. As a CTM1, my responsibilities included managing an electrical repair and installation facility, along with all duties dealing with management and training of the sailors that reported to me. Following the war, I spent 18.5 years in the Naval Reserve where I gained further experience in a multitude of electrical topics. I received an honorable discharge from the military with full benefits. In 1970 subsequent to my service in active duty in the military, I began working for Wisconsin Telephone Company (now called AT&T). In March of 2008, I finished my career at AT&T, for which I had been working at for 38 years. I retired as a Customer Services Specialist in Toll and Special Services, although also held many additional positions during my tenure at the company, giving me a wide range of experience in data, voice, video and networking communications. I also gained advanced training as a technician in data networking and processing, private branch exchange (PBX) and testing, which includes training in fiber optics, cable networking and server & router installation, maintenance and repair. I hold specialized schooling as an ISDN and Frame Relay Specialist, and was a company trainer in GIGA-Man Systems and ISDN Basics. Since retiring in 2008, I have been utilizing some of my technical communication skills at a company that manages communications equipment for correctional facilities. My most recent job functions include installation, maintenance and repair of video equipment, phones, data material for ATM operations and android-based tablets used by inmates. Although my current job has given me the opportunity to implement a portion of my skills and experience, some changing job requirements have become challenging and no longer in line with my current goals and part time retired status. As such, I am seeking a new part-time job opportunity that fosters a team environment where I can apply my skills and experience to benefit the company. I look forward to talking with you to discuss how my education, experience and hard-working nature can be of benefit to your company. Sincerely, Daniel G. Rehorst
