Summary Test materials before, during, and after production to measure the characteristics of materials and ensure that they conform to specifications. Responsible for inspecting and testing the raw materials and products to make sure they meet required levels of quality. Conduct testing procedures during manufacturing processes to ensure that products comply with quality standards. Maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties, measuring, recording and assist in setting up sorting equipment Essential and duties * Responsible for all aspects of sourcing and distribution of maintenance repair supply parts and services while taking into account cost-effective solutions. * Selects qualified suppliers and manufacturers and develops new supply sources of high dollar value, long lead time, critically needed parts, equipment, materials, or services. * Maintain productive relationships with vendors and service providers while obtaining best purchasing prices. * Identify and evaluate alternate part sources. * Establish centralized buying and inventory management programs, which includes: * Management of contractual/consignment agreements. * Approving purchase releases & requisitions. * Developing short and long term commitments. * Budgetary control and review. * Supports warranty controls and claim process. * Provides spending analysis in order to consolidate supplier base, and leverage spending across all sites. * Standardize, where possible, equipment, supplies, and replacement parts. * Responsible for storeroom inventory and accuracy. * Coordinates minimum/maximum stocking levels and inventory reorder points. * Responsible for the consolidation of the repair parts inventory. * Develops a process to determine replacement part requirements, based on Planned PM schedules. * Maintain a virtual storeroom for access across plant Locations * Assist maintenance in identifying stocking needs. * Maintains adequate inventory in support of corporate and plant level goals and objectives. * Assess purchase orders for accuracy and compliance with regulations. * Receive price quotes from vendors, compare quotes against requirements and the budget, and purchase orders via fax or computer. * Accountable for all aspects of purchasing and distribution while taking into account cost-effective solutions. * Communicate with the client, foster a team atmosphere, and report on progress * Communicate professionally & effectively * Follow-up and closure of the Purchase Orders to be issued * Help to minimize waste, improve productivity on the production line and ensure that customers receive products that are fit for use.Select products for test at specified stages in production process. That includes PPAP and special layouts * Evaluate data and write reports. * Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal productivity of equipment's capability. * Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive test on material and parts. * Cover production floor, receiving inspection or sorting as needed.. * Understanding PPAP process and how to read control Plans * Read test schedules, work orders, test manuals performance specification, wiring diagram, and determine test procedure and equipment to be used. Testing of raw plastic materials for fiber form, viscosity, moisture levels, and color, and melting temperatures.
