Summary An effective, professional supervisor responsible for the management, training and safety compliance of a large staff, and who ensures the daily execution of all transportation activities. Implements and manages all workloads, scheduling, and other related functions in support of our terminal's logistical operations. Facilitates and coordinates all vehicle movements and distribution of freight for 74 professional drivers through the Upstate and Asheville area. * Oversees the distribution and operation of delivering over 1.1 million pounds of freight and over 500 bills daily. * Successfully helps maintain terminal ranking among the top 5 terminals in profitability and operational costs during my 24 year career. * Organizes weekly safety meetings and forklift driver training. * Creates efficient and shortest delivery routes to maximize profitability fuel efficiency and to ensure customer satisfaction. * Plans and supervises the efficient flow of cross deck loading and unloading. * Assists in the loading of trucks to ensure the routes are ready for drivers as they arrive for their scheduled route times. * Coordinates the repair and maintenance of 110 trucks 150 trailers and 20 forklifts to minimize costs and driver down time. * Directs and supervises the work and productivity of drivers and clerical associates. * Utilizes a computer generated Daily Plan to organize workloads and shift times for daily drivers.
