Description
COVER LETTER: To whom it may concerned I am interested in an administrative position that can use my previous education and experience in Procurement and Contract management. I left the University of medicine and Dentistry (UMDNJ) in 2004 because of an early retirement opportunity and worked in the real estate industry. My customer service and contract negotiation experience in purchasing was very instrumental in my success in real estate. UMDNJ offered me a consulting position, but I had to decline because I was too involved in building my business. My husband recently accepted a permanent position at Idaho National Laboratory that he enjoys. After closing my business deals and selling our home in NJ I joined him here in Idaho. This was my first time living anywhere other than NJ and I am really enjoying this beautiful area and the people I have come in contact with. Please consider the following: * Represented the Purchasing Department on the planning committee for the purchase of an "Enterprise Asset Management System (EAM)" * End user for EAM system's Purchasing module daily data input * Prepared requests for BIDs and RFPs for public advertisements * Created vendor lists * Prepared and mailed out BID and RFP invitations * Conducted pre-bid conferences and bid openings * Organized vendor demonstrations and site visits * Chaired the product evaluation committee * Facilitated all negotiations between the University and vendors * Prepared and sent out award and non-award letters * Prepared and issued purchase orders * Maintained all original RFP/BID document files * Worked with Information System Technology Department (IST) directors/representatives on letter of justification for award of BID/RFP to be submitted to the Purchasing Director for final approval * Guided all evaluation committee members and departmental heads on NJ state rules and regulations and Federal Acquisition Regulations as it related to fair purchasing practices. * Assisted departments in the renewal process of software licenses agreements and hardware maintenance agreements * Submitted monthly status reports on all projects to the purchasing manager * Maintained appropriate timeframe for all activity to support meeting project deadlines. * Strong communication skills * Supported our campus computer store with new item initiation and computer inventory list * Attended George Washington University for a certification class on High Tech Negotiations * Interpret and apply federal and state rules and regulations as it relates to real estate transactions As the Purchasing Department's representative for various projects, I worked with cross functional teams at all levels of the management spectrum.
