The organization provides youth mentoring to troubled youth recommended by the judicial system and provides various educational and training facilities, including a computer lab. Great Commission Ministries feeds, on average, several hundred needy persons daily, and provides clothing and halfway housing to families, and men and women, released from prison. Great Commission Ministries is the brainchild of Bishop Walter Hanchell, JP, an ordained minister of the gospel and Justice of the Peace for the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and his wife, Minilee Hanchell.
