Summary of qualifications Thirty years experience across different platforms (IBM, UNYSYS). I have a determination to take on unfamiliar concepts and master them as best I can. I learn new concepts quickly by finding relationships between my experiences and applying them when possible. I try to approach problems in a logical and collective manner that has enable me to take on new concepts, languages and platforms with little or no difficulty. Currently, I am a DB2 infrastructure specialist on mainframe, DB2 systems programmer/DBA within software services at DXC. I am involved with the national on call duties every 6 weeks. Currently I'm working on several projects including DB2 V9, V10 and V11 upgrades, disaster recovery, and DB2 CA Platinum tool project lead and other standardization projects. Several of the federal accounts required me to have a 6C security clearance. I am a transitioned employee from MCI, MCI/WorldCom, EDS, HPE and now DXC Technologies. I am responsible for any issues or problems concerning IBM Z/os DB2 that may come up. I am in a production support role which requires me to be able to step in, determine and fix any problem or issues from application access, performance issues, system failures and recovery. All DB2 subsystems at DXC are interconnected to each other and several are connected to Oracle, Sybase, Informix and GUI applications from remote workstations. I am part of a team that supports 300+ DB2 subsystems for various clients. I continue to take classes that are offered by IBM and internal classes and have completed DB2 V8, V9, V10 and V11 transition, what's new in V8, V9, V10 and V11 and other such classes. I have also conducted training of advance and beginning DB2 disaster recovery procedures for our personnel. Contributing ideas that work I have created several different tools to aid me and my co-workers to improve the process of finding and preventing problems. From JCL generator to REXX programs that help process flow. One example would be a program that is used to determine the recovery point used in disaster recovery. Automating disaster recovery using a process flow and programs aids that collection information needed for a disaster recovery to an offsite location or migration of replicated data. I am currently reviewing and standardizing several processes within the systems DB2 team to help improve tasks that need to be done on a regular base. This allows co-workers the ability to work on diverse sites that one may find themselves on, enabling them to find information and be able to handle daily task with ease. This helps to improve quality and efficacy for our group. One such project is standardizing of our process for DB2 disaster recovery. Before the new process was created, there were several different processes that were not up to date. Most recovery drills took about two weeks of prep-work, several persons and 20+ hours to perform. Now the process has been reduced to 5 hours of prep-work and 3-5 hours to perform by a single person depending on how many subsystems are involved in the disaster. We perform dills of our 300+ DB2 subsystems every year. In 2005 and 2007 I was sent to Brazil and China on eight week TDI to successfully assist clients with problem issues that needed to be resolved within a situation group.
