COVER LETTER: Hello, My name is Edward Skawinski and I am 63 years young. This is a summary of my work history. I have been a mechanical repair person my entire working life. In 1972 I did a home college course on auto mechanics but I realized it was not for me. My first real job was with Barclay Home Products in Cohoes. Here I was responsible for the repair of many different types of machinery such as washers, dryers, separators and garrnets and anything else that would break. I worked for them for 13 years before the company closed. From there I went to work for Borden Dairy in Menands as a mechanic on various milk processing equipment . I was offered a job as night supervisor for the night shift. I was with them about five years before they left the area. My biggest accomplishment with them was building a milk packaging unit for them from scratch which cost them about $500 versus the cost of around $10,000 from one of their manufacturers. After they closed I went to work for Albany Medical Center Hospital as a mechanic. Within two years I was advanced to what they called a master mechanic. From there I continued to excel with my rank at the hospital. I went from master mechanic to Energy Management Coordinator for the hospital. From there to mechanical supervisor and about two years after that I became Assistant Director of all of maintenance for the hospital and their off sites and their 39 apartment buildings. This included responsible for all the tradesmen such as plumbers, electricians, carpenters, mechanics and the grounds crew. I took care of all their training and discipline and their annual evaluations for raises. I also maintained their computer based preventive maintenance system while also overseeing their Johnson Controls Metasys system which monitored and controlled the operation of many pieces of critical hospital systems such as air handlers air compressors, vacuum systems and many other critical pieces of equipment threw out the complex. A few years later I took very sick and ended up retiring for health issues. Now that my health has improved I am ready to go back to work but I can not go back to Albany Medical because I did retire from there. My problem now is as follows I can no longer do any heavy lifting, but my brain and ambition are still great. Another issue is I already make about $18 a hour sitting at home. However I still want to go back to the work environment because I like to work not only for the money but I alway learned about new advancements with equipment and their operations. I always liked learning about technical advancements during my career. In a effort to keep this short I can do any of the trades safely and correctly without any issues. I am willing to take on any job you have available which will continue to work my brain and provide you with the best results. However I would need to make a worthwhile salary or hourly pay. If this may interest you or your company feel free to contact me at skawine54@aol.com with any job you may have available that you feel I could help with your daily operations. Thank You for taking the time to read this resume. Hope to hear from you.
