· In my environment, my daily activities is based on users’ request which can be production support or project work. · I check my emails first thing in the morning for critical alerts generated and respond accordingly. · But what really guides my daily activities is the Ticketing System (customized) which generates activities from our Production environment. · Some days the tickets will take me towards troubleshooting, some days towards performance tuning or migration based on users’ request. · When I receive the tickets, I first acknowledge and prioritize them based on their severity. · Run Adhoc queries · Schedule backups to run during off hours. I also check my backup reports in the morning to make sure it ran successfully the previous night. Periodically test my backups · Design and create databases · Check and monitor mount points and tablespace growth · I Attend and participate in team meetings and provide feedback concerning projects. · I’m also involve in 24/7 on-call support on rotational basis. Regarding Project work · I often Check the project calendar for any delivery. · Configure Data guard for disaster recovery · Configured RAC for High Availability · Migration across same and different platforms · Upgrade and apply Patches · Golden gate installation and configuration · At the end of the day, I also Update my status report , by documenting what I have worked on and the steps and also what am planning to work on next.
