SUMMARY Electrical and Mechanical CAD/Designer/Drafter working with NASA and DoD in the field of Low and Medium Voltage AC Power Systems, DC Power Systems, Control Systems, Grounding & Bonding, Lightning Protection, Lighting Systems, UPS and Generators as they relate to space vehicles, ground support equipment and facilities drawings per GP-435 and ASME Y14 Standards. 2011 - Present NELSON ENGINEERING, Kennedy Space Center, FL Electrical and Mechanical CAD/Designer/Drafter IV * CAD/Designer/Drafter of Electrical and Mechanical Ground Support Equipment used in Aerospace applications. Extensive multi-program experience at Kennedy Space Center with hands-on development of specialized equipment, including responsibility for design details and support of fabrication, testing and operational use. Knowledge of NASA and ASME Y14 standards, established Engineering and shop practice, GSE components and disciplined attention to detail supports accurate production of Electrical and Mechanical system design products. Knowledge Base and Capabilities: Hardware Elements and Design Products * Electrical chassis, rack, enclosure, panel, control console assemblies Mechanical/Fluid system panel, enclosure, tubing/fitting assemblies Cable, connector, harness, breakout box assemblies and conductor terminations Schematics, wire running lists, Electro-Mechanical Control Diagrams, block diagrams, logic diagrams Electrical emulators and adapters Electrical and Mechanical spec parts, MIL fasteners and COTS equipment Technical Practice and Team Interaction * Application and interpretation of GP-435 and ASME Y14 standards, including geometric dimensioning and tolerance where applicable. * Application of EGSE Notices and NASA directives to hardware design implementation of program and vendor requirements for assembly, torque, finish, bonding. * Review of in-process design products for correct implementation, practice, and ability to fabricate. Coordinate correction of noted discrepancies and generate recommendations for resolution Provide mentoring and guidance as required to support CAD and Engineering personnel development within the product team. Additional Qualifications CAD platforms: AutoCad Electrical, MicroStation SE/JCAD, Unigraphics 2D/3D, CATIA V5. Attitude, self-discipline and commitment to implementation of requirements and standards supports NASA and product team expectations and objectives.
