CollapseDescription

Summary: Analyzed LAN to determine what were the major problems and improvements needed to be made to the network infrastructure. Reengineered the backbone LAN to provide a more reliable service and to reduce its latency, analyzed the NT domain in the New York office to determine the replication between PDC and BDC servers. Engineered a plan for deploying Windows 2000 Advance Server in an existing Windows NT 4 domain structure, and implemented these changes along with providing the day-to-day Maintenances. Detailed Descriptions: Installing and troubleshooting between 50 and 2500 workstations, where needed besides of install new NT servers and switch-routers was also necessary to update workstations, using an HPDTA HP open view Data Administrator and Microsoft SMS. Rebuilt 3 NT 4 servers adding more hard drive space and reloading. Loaded and installed 3 windows 2000 advance servers, and installed 1 windows 2000 server to run HP Open View to manage the local LAN. Documented the network equipment lay out at the co-location in New York. Implemented (HSRP) Hot Standby Router Protocol Because provide routing redundancy for routing IP traffic not dependent on the availability of any single router. Summary: Analyzed corporate LAN and WAN to determine what were the major problems and improvements needed to be made to the network infrastructure and network Security using Protocol Analyzers. Multiple projects in LAN / WAN installations: Frame Relay with Cisco router 2500,1005 and Catalyst 5000 Installation and Configuration. Documented the network equipment's located at the headquarters located in New York. Working with a verity of protocols to normalize the consistence on networks connections, based on the concept of internetwork design: Functionality, Scalability, Adaptability, Manageability and Cost effectiveness. Most of the remotes were from small medium-sized networks 100-500 on those cases I use RMON and SNMP (Remote Monitoring and Simple Management Protocol). This way the data was pulled from the remote devices' through Management Information Bases (MIBs) for analysis at the central location in New York. In my experience as designer I consider general issues of user end-station administrations. Based on that I took in consideration some issues of user end-station administration (including configuration of the network), move, adds and changes, based on the fact that users move to different locations and also future network grow. Using VLAN helped to manage (isolate) the traffic on other branches of the network, they have the functional equivalent of broadcast domain. Summary: Directly responsible for Installing and supporting 150+ Windows-based Enterprise servers (Windows 4.0, workstations 4.0 and 95). Server configuring Compaq ProLiant /RAID5, Dell Power Edge server. Server backup: Installation, scheduling, monitoring of Arc Serve (Novell/NT). MS Exchange Server installation, configuration and support. -MS Exchange client configuration and troubleshooting (Outlook Client) Lotus Notes integration with cc: Mail and SMTP Multiple projects in Netware to NT migration. Resolution of server based Legacy application migration issues. Windows NT: WINS/DHCP implementations. Deployment of System policies. Network printing implementation and support for Novell and Windows NT (TCP/IP) LPR Printing, HP Jet Direct and Intel Net Port hardware print servers. Deployment of Systems management infrastructure for HP Open View Desktop for Administrator (HPDTA), and Microsoft SMS. Operations/Report generation/Help desk support with HPDTA based Electronic Software Distribution (ESD) projects at client location (2500+ desktops). Cisco Router installation / configuration and Compatible Systems / Bay Networks. TCP/IP / Internet connectivity, WAN hardware troubleshooting probating advice for upgrade Proxy server / Internet content filtering system support (WEB sense) All aspects of Desktop hardware/software support (Win 3.x/9x/NTWS), migration from Novell servers to windows 4.0.
