Independent Practitioner ( Department of Corrections / Lake Correctional Institution ( 1982 - Present Counseling Provide diverse individual and group therapy counseling services for incarcerated males including PTSD stress management anger management anxiety rational behavior sex offender substance abuse and prerelease. Near 100% pass rate of all quarterly bi-annual and annual inspections. Key Accomplishments: Sole professional responsible for establishing a dormant mental health institutional program. * Improve program effectiveness through assessing the population needs to develop and implement 16 programs designed to meet those needs. * Improve mental health of clients through assessment of incoming patients to identify mental health needs including evaluating suicidal tendencies and development of comprehensive and appropriate treatment plans as well as follow-up counseling and evaluation. Promote rehabilitation delivering sex offender group counseling and through private practice for community-based sex offender group treatment. Develop and deliver group counseling for in-patient inmates and conduct multi-disciplinary meetings to track patient progress. * Prepare and deliver psychological evaluations for the Parole Commission and EAP focal areas. * Coordinate a Federal Grant funded through adult and basic education and author funded proposals for newly created positions. * Develop and deliver National Conference presentations and provide training to Regional Training Academy. Supervise train and mentor mental health staff. * Provide marital and individual therapy through private practice personal and vocational counseling at the University Counseling Center crisis counseling through Alachua County Crisis Center and therapy at the Center for Career Transition.
