QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: * Highly skilled and proficient in: * all aspects of radiological controls including, but not limited to, airborne, removable, and fixed contamination survey techniques. Performing radiation dose rate surveys. Performing high-risk job coverage. * performing and analyzing environmental samples such as soil, water, and biota by atomic absorption spectroscopy, gas chromatography, UV - VIS spectrophotometry, and X-ray fluorescence * safety and health regulations with respect to worker protection issues * responding to numerous radiological and environmental spills, and involved in cleanup measures and recovery * analyzing radioactive samples using multi-channel analyzer * Department of Energy Core Radiological Fundamental Card holder - Renewable every two years. (expired) * Passed the Northeast Utilities Exam with validity up to October 2017 - Renewable every five years. * Certified in HAZWOPER - Hazard Waste Operations and Emergency Response. * Extensive experience in supervising a staff of 20 Health Physics Inspectors to successfully perform and complete technical radiological work and complex projects both domestic and abroad - United Kingdom, France, Italy & other countries. * Held NAVSEA 389-0288 Article 108 qualification for 13 years while working for the Department of Defense, Charleston Naval Shipyard. * Well-trained in asbestos and lead-based paint detection and remediation.. * Excellent oral and written communication skills, blueprint reading, problem solving either as a leader or a team member. * Highly skilled and proficient in Microsoft for Windows such as Word, Excel, Access D-Base, Outlook, WinZip, Photo Shop, Ahead Nero, Media Player, and other Computer Application Software. Knowledgeable in Internet. * Can proficiently operate forklift, front-end loader, back/track hoe, bulldozer, hydroblaster, computer, printer, laptop, scanner, pc cam, fax, calculator, electronic and manual typewriter, photocopying machine, and overhead projector.
