SUMMARY: 1. Multidisciplinary background in biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry and material science: three-year UCSF School of Dentistry postdoctoral training in biochemistry / biophysics and five-year Ph.D. research training in chemistry (biointerface design and analysis). 2. Successfully led or involved projects about biomolecular expression and analysis. 3. Proven ability to lead and work with cross-functional teams from industry, clinical care, and academia. 4. Thirteen first author or co-authored papers, one invention disclosure, and two invited talks at international conferences involving in NIH grant and national lab user submission/revision process as major investigator. 5. Comprehensive skill sets for molecular interaction and characterization: a) Protein - protein interaction: Biacore SPR system, ITC, dynamic light scattering, zeta-potential measurement, and atomic force microscope (AFM) based single molecular interaction force spectrometry. b) Protein characterization: SDS-PAGE, ELISA, western blot, dot blot, immunostaining, UV - Vis spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, FTIR, CD, LC - MS, and MALDI-TOF MS. c) Protein expression: sequences mutation / deletion, primer design, and expression of recombinant proteins extraction of native proteins from tissues design and solid state organic synthesis of protein fragment peptide. d) Protein / peptide purification: HPLC, FPLC, SEC, IEX, salting out, and ultrafiltration. f) Characterization of solid pharmaceutical material: SEM, TEM, AFM, EDX, surface tension, solubility determination, aggregation, auto titration, DSC - TGA, PXRD, and nanoindentation. g) Solid state materials synthesis: fabrication of uniform silica, mesoporous silica, hydroxyapatite, metal nanoparticles, magnetic (Fe3O4), polystyrene, poly (methyl methacrylate) colloids g) Knowledge of US FDA regulation on drug development and health policy. h) Computer skills: Microsoft Office, SoftMax Pro, UNICORN, Image J, Origin, ChemDraw, and MDI-Jade.
