Summary: Underwriter of FHA, VA and Conv loan products including Bond loans and Affordable Housing loans from origination to closing with emphasis on quality and production. Underwrite each and every loan with open mind and attentiveness to agency and lender guidelines and/or overlays. Able to work in fast-paced office environment while achieving company goals with cool and professional demeanor. Proficient with FHA Total Scorecard, Desktop Underwriter (DU), Loan Prospector (LP), GSE requirements, SFR, 2-4 Family, Condo, Co-Ops Review and crosscheck automated findings with documentation in file. Request missing documents to complete an accurately documented loan file that is worthy of sale to the secondary market. Proficient and thorough review of all documentation in file: Credit report, review public records, address discrepancies, customer identity verification procedures, calculate liabilities, properly calculate and review income documents with a proficiency to tax returns and the self-employed borrower, assets, investment statements, retirement accounts, review cash to close ensuring borrowers have minimum required investment in the deal, calculate and ensure reserves as required, collateral review and disclosures. Additionally review title commitment ensuring accurate amount of chain of title is evident and review of Homeowner's and Flood insurance premiums ensuring data integrity with these amounts. Review and underwrite property appraisal report ensuring comparable sales and appraiser commentary support market value. Ensure property type, value and other key values are present in computer system to ensure data integrity. Manually underwrite FHA/VA loans as required for both purchase and refinance business with emphasis to quality and ensure additional guidelines requirements are met and all appropriate documentation is present in loan file. Process loans, request and obtain verification documents, make calls to employers to verify employment and clarify any confusion or conflicting information that may be present with documents presented as necessary to complete the loan and avoid un-necessary hand offs. Input all data into computer systems accurately to ensure data integrity for each component of every loan file, ensure all proper notes and workarounds and proper codes if any are input promptly and accurately. Craft or select all appropriate underwriting and closing conditions written in an articulate and professional manner. Review and clear all prior to closing underwriting conditions ensuring file is accurate and complete before issuing final clear to close. Effectively communicate these conditions verbally with all staff as needed and required. Proficient use of paperless systems, ensure documents are in accurate underwriting, case file or shipping order. Proficient with Outlook, Office Word, Excel spreadsheets, Word Pad, PDF documents, assured and confident ability using all computer systems. Easily and quickly acclimate to all systems. Computer literate and find ease with internet and computer systems and programs. Effective communication skills both written and oral. Assured, positive communications with support staff, processors, underwriters, loan officers, risk management, team leads and managers. Successfully complete all training classes, webinars, etc. Stay abreast of all guidelines, procedures, memos, e-mails within required time frames. Current with all Federal regulations, ie: ECOA (Reg B), FCRA/FACTA, TILA (Reg Z), RESPA (Reg X), Patriot Act/CIP, TRID, HOEPA, HERA, Reg H (Flood Disaster Protection Act), etc. and Conv
