Work Experience Summary Public School, Separate School Settings/Community Adapted Sports/Mental Health ICFMR/Dually Diagnosed Facilities Extensive and diversified experience working in a variety of settings including: separate school programs, mental health facilities, small group self-contained settings, inclusive settings, general physical education settings, coaching and Aquatic settings, Wounded Warriors/NC SE Valor Games, Bridge 2 Sports. Teaching experience also includes Health Education in the public schools, grades 6-12, under the N.C. Healthful Living Curriculum. These experiences include providing direct and consultative Special Education for Adapted Physical Education and Aquatic instruction, as well as consultation and collaboration with regular physical education, coaches and special education staff. Specific expertise in low incidence assessment, single subject study design and in the development of IEPs/IFSPs/504 Plans and IHPs for adults with developmental disabilities and developmentally age appropriate lessons for students k-12 with eligibilities that include Intellectual Disability (all levels) Orthopedic Impairment Other Health Impairment, Visual and Hearing Impairment, Deaf/Blind, Emotional Disability, Learning Disability, TBI, Students with Multi-disabilities, and those students identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Asperger's Syndrome. University Experience: 1994 - 2007 Twelve years (12) Assistant Professor at NCCU, Durham, NC- Physical Education and Recreation Department Transitioned from Instructor to Assistant Professor in the Physical Education Department and, Assistant Professor (Adjunct) in Special Education Program. Instructor: Introduction to Special Education. 2007 - 2014 Seven (7) years part time at NCCU, Durham, NC APE Assistant Professor, Graduate Adjunct. Taught: Adapted Physical Education, Pediatric Adapted Physical Education, Research Methods, Athletic Administration, Graduate Seminar, American Sign Language, and Aquatic classes upon request.
