Accomplishments * Gained project approval for ShurFlo Gas Operated "Bag in Box" Syrup Dispense Pump Project releasing a 10 year design freeze due to lack of engineering direction. * Drafted & presented design review of differential air motor that was selected in brain storm session to drive the new ShurFlo Gas Operated BIB Pump. * Conceived design for 1:1 positive displacement pump driven by 1.50" differential air motor, created SolidWorks models & collaborated with vendors, purchasing, machinists & in house injection molding engineers to develop, procure components for & assemble design validation prototypes. * Planned & executed design validation testing ShurFlo Gas Operated BIB Pump project, designed & built test fixtures, wrote test requests, set-up & monitored tests, collected & analyzed test data, wrote test reports & presented design recommendations all leading to project feasibility approval. * Achieved company certification to operate Bridgeport mill, manual lathe, saws, drill press, grinders, hand power tools & measuring equipment making it possible to machine test fixtures & make modifications to prototype designs at will to cut testing & design iteration time from months to days. * Developed & implemented immediate fix design change plan to off-set sales loss of existing ShurFlo Gas Operated BIB Pump. * Collaborated with manufacturing engineers to developed new manufacturing & assembly processes that accelerated production line speed by up to 25% & reduce reject rate from 15% to under 2%. * Designed, modeled, procured components & worked with technicians to build performance & life test benches for Design Validation Testing of Gas Operated Positive Displacement Pumps in (2) different locations. * Drafted & presented business plan to build Pump Performance & Life Test Labs in St. Paul & Chicago. Resulted in Capital Expense Request approval of $250,000 for building modifications & equipment expenses.
