SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS * 17 years of progressive professional experience including U.S. Navy service, journalism, and educational leadership * Excellent written communication skills, including content information, planning, informative texts, research writing, narratives, feature stories, prose, and poetry as well as verbal communication skills, both of which demonstrate strong ability to convey subject material in an accessible and understandable manner * Ability to incorporate technology into daily functions, including but not limited to experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher, experience with Adobe Photoshop, Avid Express, Quark Express, and Adobe Premiere, as well as experience with photography and videography * Experience with layout and design as well as creating content for presentation purposes * Strong ability to coach and guide others on how to effectively communicate verbally or in writing, including one-on-one sessions, editing, copyediting, peer review, and mock interviews * Serve as a peer reviewer for academic journals "Education and Urban Society" and "International Journal of Educational Reform" (2017)
