Summary of Qualifications * Experienced Telecom Systems Engineer (30 years) in Broadband Communications Technologies using various legacy and advanced technology systems to include: Fiber Characterization, Fiber circuit payload testing, Cisco Optics DWDM/15454-turnup/test, NCS2k/flex spectrum/4K install-turn up/test, Cisco CRS/ASR9K installs, outside plant, IPTV, microwave, high speed data, status monitoring, analog, and Satellite earth station downlink optimization. * Activation, Testing & Documentation of IPTV/VHO sites. Testing includes ASI/RF optical links, SDI (Standard Definition & High Definition signals), Encoders, Decoders, Frame syncs, Switches and Distribution amps. Collection of all test data to be formatted for customers. * Off-air Broadcast TV and Satellite downlink site surveys. Complete testing of signals and overview of potential build sites. * Specialization in performing IPTV & Traditional Head-End FCC Proof of Performance testing and trouble-shooting. * Ability to perform Project Management, Sales, Design, and other technical support tasks as required. * Provide domestic and international technical support/training for a wide range of Fiber Optic, satellite antenna outside plant and headend products/systems. * Activation and standard configuration of several Transport Systems including Analog, Digital, RF, Microwave, Baseband, Cisco ONS 15454 DWDM Optical Platform, installs & turn-ups. * Configuration, Balance and Alignment of Broadband Headend products including IPTV-Encoders, Satellite Receivers, Processors, Modulators, Demodulators, Up-Converters, ad insertion, and Power Supplies. * Detailed operational knowledge of major headend/hub products and various digital products. * Supervision of Installers and Field Engineers as required for construction, daily field operations, and provisioning of new systems. * Above average knowledge on theory of operation of addressable CATV systems from installation to advanced testing, along with all policies and procedures as required. Summary of Accomplishments * Currently working with several Cisco teams: Installation/turn up/testing, Optical ONS15454 DWDM optical ROADM/routing systems, to include the NCS2k & NCS4K. I have completed 100's of sites for various Cisco customers. To include AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, Cox, Google, JP Morgan, Thomson Reuters, Transunion and TW cable. * Complete Turn-Key CATV & IPTV headend design packages for multiple customers including Design, Project Management, Site Surveys, Earth-Station design, Floor Plans, HVAC, -48 Volt Power Plant, Equipment Layouts, Wiring Designs, Documentation, Testing, Activation, and Sales Engineering resulting in time to market delivery of services and increased profits for the division. * Have completed dozens of Off-air Broadcast TV and Satellite downlink site surveys. These surveys resulted in successful turnkey builds for customers. * Have completed over 50 AT&T- IPTV sites that include Activation, Troubleshooting, Testing & Documentation of IPTV/VHO facilities. * Provided national and international on-site technical support for a wide range of Headend, inside plant, outside plant and fiber optics products.
