Scheduled daily gas nominations for a combined cycle power plant operation. * Utilized GE Mark VI, Honeywell 3000, Foxboro, and Ovation DCS to remotely start/stop gas turbines, pumps, gas compressors, and operate auto control valves. * Accountable for analyzing changing conditions, weather, and load forecasting. * Responded to alarms, making necessary adjustments, monitoring pipeline integrity and coordinating in-plant pipeline maintenance, monitoring tank and storage levels, maintaining communication with field personnel, and suppliers to maximize efficiency, and safety. * Worked with field personnel on basic troubleshooting of communications, SCADA, control valves, regulators, relief valves, and other equipment related to gas control and operations. * Monitored and maintained pipeline pressures within design criteria, leak detection systems and monitored gas quality. * Worked closely with the various gas suppliers externally to execute safe system pipeline packs, unpacks, pressure drops, and velocity. * Responsible for analyzing changing conditions, alarms, and making necessary adjustments. * Accountable for safety, writing procedures, training, logs, preventive maintenance, direct report evaluation, time keeping, generating work orders, purchasing, and natural gas nomination. Involved in plant budget balancing. * Served as a central point of contact and information center during emergency situations, without first-hand supervision. * Proficient in diagnostic and corrective work/operations in the event of plant upsets using relevant P&IDs, vendor manuals, trends, and other data to assist with corrective action. * Recently secured and successfully passed the COBRA (Console Operator Basic Requirements Assessment) aptitude test. * Applied MS Word and Excel in filing systems for cost control and maintain adequate inventory to support all maintenance, power plant, and buildings functions. * Attained PJM Generation Operator certification. CPR, First Aid responder and Defibrillator trained.
