One area of responsibility during my 35 1/2 year career at the New York City Department of Transpoortation (NYCDOT) was when I was the City-wide Construction Coordinator in charge of fourteen Street & Highway Paving (asphalt resurfacing) crews. For that position, I was Director of more than 500 employees consisting of laborers, Supervisors and Directors. A second area of responsibility was when I was the Executive Director of the Bridge Maintenance & Repair Unit, also with the NYCDOT. In that position I was in Charge of more than 350 employees,(Iron Workers, Electrrician, Carpenters, Engineers, Supervisors, Deputy Directors and Laborers) charged with the responsibility pf maintaining and repairing more than 500 New York City owned Bridges as well as Mechanical Bridges over watewr and land on the Highway & Street system of new York City.
