Description
SUMMARY * Dedicated engineering technician with track record of increased accountability. One that has progressively continued a willingness to learn new skills within program of study in the vacuum and pressure industries. Working for suppliers of vacuum/pressure components, measurements and furnace manufactures in these fields, I've gained knowledge of services, associated processes, applications and design. I'm able to perform effectively and efficiently working independently and as part of a team environment. QUALIFICATIONS * Senior level experience and formal training in electromechanical engineering fields * Training in electronics, electrical wiring, trouble-shooting, vacuum measurements, light machining, high-vacuum practices, minor welding and metal-joining. * Experience in high-vacuum processes and helium leak detection. * Follows SOPs, safety procedures and comfortable working in a laboratory or industrial work environment. * Pay attention to detail, positive work ethic and amongst colleagues, a 'go-to' for analysis in solving issues with a methodical approach. ACCOMPLISHMENTS * Insured advertised capabilities aggressively improving SCADA functionality with improved reliabilities. * Tested and installed vacuum/pressure furnaces to include processes for hardening, sintering/de-binding, brazing, tempering, annealing, HIP and force capabilities. * Aided in experiments to develop process and equipment for two types metal atomization processes. * Maintained a positive cash flow covering overhead, wages, benefits, equipment usage and any other materials or time required to run the department. * Doubled processed toll services establishing a platform for next business phase. INTERPERSONAL AND TEAMWORK * Performed ISO 9001 audits as part of the Quality Department's Auditing Team. * Worked with engineering to initiate required changes as-well-as setting up schedule and operational coverage for a variety toll processing with different type vacuum/pressure furnaces. * Provided solutions on products with associated application. Products include vacuum pumps, leak detectors, gauging, controllers, valves and hardware. * Completed assays to improve instrumentation measurements, process control and quality for gas atomized metals. William K. Murphy Page 2 OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE * Maintained vacuum-pressure pilot plant with associated equipment, pumps and instrumentation supportive to metal atomization process development. * Developed marketable sub-assemblies, tested and adapted alternative pumping systems in providing solutions to meet customer needs. * Maintained lab equipment through required or preventive maintenance to include mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic support of equipment. * Worked extensively with specialists-customers to optimize equipment's performance and reliability. HEALTH AND SAFETY * Responsible for understanding the chemistry and byproducts in the processing of materials to insure the safety of employees, equipment and facility. * Follows adopted procedures and safety regulations in maintaining safe work environment complying with federal, state and local regulations. * Procured needed safety equipment for personnel and required processing needs for toll and R&D services.
