CAREER SUMMARY I am a seasoned Franchise Business Professional, and entrepeneur in the quick/casual segment of the foodservice industry. My franchised bakery/cafe was in business from 1998 to 2012 in Oakland County, MI, providing premium baked goods, gourmet coffee, specialty sandwiches and salads in a clean, friendly, and inviting environment. As the operator, I provided a variety of daily operations management functions including purchasing, human resources, food production, customer service and guest relations, sanitation, employee coaching and counseling and marketing. I ensured that my operation met or exceeded the standards set by the franchisor. My latest position was a Franchise Business Consultant for an international sandwich chain headquartered in Denver, CO. I was responsible for 88 client stores in my markets which stretch from western Florida to Washington state and out to Hawaii. As a Business Consultant, my responsibilities extend beyond just operations. Building trust is a major component in being a successful consultant. I believe I have done that by knowing what challenges a Franchise Operator faces, not only on a day to day basis, but minute by minute. I don't pretend to have all the answers, but working together, we can find them. For 17 years prior to my entrepreneurial venture, I was an Operations/Business Consultant for the franchise division of a major international fast food chain providing consultation services to franchisees of that corporation. These services included proposed site evaluations, development and implementation of marketing plans both at the single store level and at the area and regional levels, store level financial audits, operations assessments and evaluations leading to development of action plans to rectify identified opportunities. Also included in my portfolio of offered services was training of franchisees' staff from their directors of operations, area and store level managers, to unit level associates. "Train the trainer" sessions were a common occurrence. Although I have been involved in the hospitality industry since I was 14 years old, I continously strive to learn new skills.
