Daily Duties at Christ For The Nations, Inc:

Internally promoted having proven myself in previous roles. Created multi-million-dollar budgets, while managing accounts receivables and accounts payables. Continuously reviewed and updated accounting systems with the purpose of confirming appropriate internal controls. Supervised accounting staff and managed performance development efforts. Presented status updates to the Board of Directors twice a year. I was offered the position by the Chairman of the Board, when they knew I had not held such a position before. They were impressed by my success in the previous positions. For three months, before the current Controller left, I spent half of the day as the Institute Business Manager, half a day learning from the Controller, and the evenings teaching myself accounting. One of my first acts was to get the approval to institute budgets. Over the next six months I met with the department heads and created company wide budgets. In the next two years with budgets, and strict spending controls, the non-profit had a turnaround from $2.2 million in the red to break-even. Successfully passed the annual self-ordered audits from the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). Verified all outgoing checks for accuracy
