Daily Duties at Agape Home Healthcare:
Provide executive level leadership with full accountability of staffing, policies and procedures, health insurance, employee relations, and audits. Support 1800+ full time and part time staff members. Streamline hiring processes by developing and maintaining databases of qualified candidates. Standardize employee policies and procedures, while maintaining uniformity throughout the practice. Expeditiously and precisely handle employee relations issues, track staff eligibility, and facilitate enrollment. Review costs of health and dental plans to confirm cost efficiency. Enforce all local, state, and federal guidelines. Hired as the Human Resource Director for a company that had no HR department. Process the full range of HR duties: References, state and federal exclusions, state abuse registry checks and criminal history for non-licensed field staff, full-time office staff, Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Physical Therapists, etc. Use the Human Resources Information System that I created in access to keep track of professional licenses, drivers licenses, and other documents that must be kept in the course of business for approximately 45 of the staff and contractors. I meet with the broker, make the decision on dental, health, and other benefits to offer.employees. I roll out the plans to the employees, and monitor their online enrollment via Employee Navigator. In 2011 the owner came to enlist my aid in fixing a situation between the Company and the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) in the payment of unemployment taxes. They had been paying it incorrectly for a year and neither the Program Manager nor the Payroll Manager could figure out the proper way to calculate and pay the taxes for the Consumer Directed Services program.. I worked closely with the TWC and it took six months to fix the issue. I am now the one who handles the taxes every quarter. There were 45 employers at the time and they were accruing $15 fines each, per quarter, until I fixed the issue. I now manage the taxes for over 350 employers now. When the owner wanted to start a church, he asked me to look into it. I found out the paperwork needed, filed it, and got the church 501(c)(3) status. During the process I also learned that his ministry had lost non-profit status as there was annual paperwork not being filed. I did the research and found and filed the proper paperwork to get it reinstated. I now manage the filing for both of his non-profits. Every month I run the state and federal Exclusions on all of our employees and contractors, over 2000 individuals every month. This is to verify that all of them are eligible to receive payments from Medicaid and Medicare. I run abuse registry checks once a year on all employees and contractors who worked for us in the last year, and/or are currently working for us. I updated the policies and procedures for our field staff, and instituted training to our office staff. Because of these procedures, our unemployment success went up approximately 4.5%. Each lost unemployment claim can cost the company as much as $8,000 per employee, per year. I head the Company's COVID-19 task force. I wrote the company policies for both field staff and office staff. Every morning I monitor the office staff responses to the COVID-19 questionnaire, follow up on questionable responses, and notify managers if an employee they are responsible fails to fill out the questionnaire.
