Daily Duties at Partner Industrial (Now Husqvarna):
We answered phone calls as the United States & Canada warehouse for Partner Industrial Product & Kent/ Euroclean product. The calls that came in varied from saw identification, order entry, and minor technical issues. Technically, I learned how to change out a carburetor, proper gas to oil ratio, among other things. We were responsible for working with regional sales representatives, and assisting them with problems & situations that would arise. Attended offsite training in Olathe, KS (for walk behind saws & core drills) & Princeton, IL (diamond blade training). Attended World of Concrete in Las Vegas, and traveled with regional sales rep in Southern California. As assistant manager, I was second in charge of a 5- 6 person department. I was responsible for training the new employees, assisting my manager with any internal or external issues that required special attention. I was in charge of the system pricing for both the US & Canadian systems (system 36 & JD Edwards). National account maintenance (updating addresses, closing the old accounts before they were national accounts & giving them new account numbers). When we merged with Target out of Olathe, KS I assisted with the merge of computer systems in the US to the PMRS system, and confirmed that all of our system pricing was converted correctly to the new computer system.
What they like about Partner Industrial (Now Husqvarna):
Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
