Daily Duties at Public Works Department Palm Beach:
Responsible for preparing budget estimates, plans, and designs. Oversees various contractors for installation and/or repairs of sanitary sewer systems, storm water systems, pumping stations, bulkheads, seawalls, beaches, streets, buildings, docks, and other public facilities. Job function also includes minor site surveys, site inspections, cost estimates, review designs and specifications for municipal projects, provides contract administration, bid review, and project coordination between the Town and other municipalities/government agencies. Mentors and advises engineering technical support staff. Manages various project teams consisting of engineering and architectural consultants and contractors on Capital Improvement projects. Meets with the public and conveys information relative to various department and Town engineering activities. Additional responsibilities include Building Department/Public Works Plans Examiner, Rights-of-Way permit review/enforcement, and NPDES MS4 Coordinator.
