Daily Duties at Hodgman Inc:
Directed and guided implementation of sales and merchandising strategy for one of the nation’s oldest and largest brands of wading products and private label wader supplier. Created new line of lightweight, breathable products, utilizing innovative fabric technology and construction techniques. Collaborated with production team and manufacturing partners to create new wading product and rainwear designs that met cost constraints and profit objectives. Performed multi-faceted roles, accountable for P&L, sales forecasts, production, and product planning, as well as product pricing and market strategy. Worked directly with multiple high-profile, nation sporting goods and mass merchant retail partners (Academy Sports, Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Gander Mountain, Sportsman’s Warehouse, The Sports Authority, WAL-MART, and K-Mart). Achieved sales increase of 72% over 5 years, and increased EBITDA by 8% annually within a well-established niche market by developing a multi-level pricing strategy for key retail partners that aligned with company-wide profit objectives. ▪ Traveled across the US and Asia to source, develop, and cultivate long-term relationships with key customers and manufacturing partners. ▪ Led strategic planning and execution of product planning for mass merchant retail; and initiated profitable programs with WAL-MART and K-Mart. ▪ Collaborated with product development team to expand brand positioning within waterfowl/hunting markets; directed development of patented “Dura-Mag” series of waders and boots. ▪ Monitored market analytics to target key product assortments that met regional and seasonal demographic needs. ▪ Achieved sales increase of 50% to independent specialty retailers by working closely with company owner and President to manage all aspects customer service and sales by d riving direct sales to key partners.
