Daily Duties at Gbi, Frogg Toggs:

Spearheaded merchandising and branding strategy for nation’s #1 brand of Outdoor Industry rainwear. Led Board of Directors in P&L planning and execution, sales forecasting, and budget management for an expanding $35M business. Managed team of 7 direct reporting managers, 40 independent sales reps and agencies, and a staff of 75 associates. Executed and managed all aspects of product development, including sourcing, merchandising specification/selection, product fit/function, point-of-sales presentation, and marketing. Coordinated with buyers, sales, and marketing teams to identify consumer and market needs. Collaborated with key national retail accounts and mass merchants to identify national and regional modular and store sets that drive retail sales. Established strong relationships and strategic alliances with key retailers and vendors ensuring open dialog regarding products, quality control, logistics, and deliveries. Traveled extensively across the US, Asia, and Europe to forge profitable, new business relationships and deepen existing ones. Achieved sales growth of 618% over 9 years and reversed annual losses to generate $35M in annual sales; also achieved #1 Brand Status in outdoor rainwear market while expanding EBITDA margins and exceeding 16% annually. ▪ Created and implemented new line of Frogg Toggs® branded wading products for fly fishing and waterfowl markets. Continually grew and expanded into the specialty retail market and national retailers. ▪ Collaborated with product development and sourcing teams to identify and implement quality control procedures, demonstrate a clear understanding of HTS procedures and practices, and develop a consistent logistics strategy for all imported products. ▪ Established policies and procedures in compliance with federal and state employee guidelines; and produced/updated employee handbooks and policy manuals for management team and associates. ▪ Rolled out Frogg Toggs® e-commerce website (www.frogtoggs.com) to promote branding and drive direct B2C sales. ▪ Served on Frogg Toggs’® Board of Directors, Strategic Planning Committee, and Compensation Committees. VP, DIRECTOR OF SALES (3/2005-12/2008) Led sales and marketing teams to execute multi-tier system of product pricing and establish “minimum advertised pricing” model for retail partners. Developed in-store marketing and POS materials, and coordinated a comprehensive presentation and packaging strategy. Partnered with vendors to develop improved rainwear and wading products. Traveled frequently to Asia to identify new sourcing partners and implement productions and import practices. Managed branding at national and region trade shows, buying group, and distributor shows. Oversaw national sales team, product development, customer service, and 40 independent sales reps and agencies. Worked autonomously with key national accounts, using a hands-on, consultative approach to develop and grow brand distribution. Spearheaded redevelopment of Frogg Toggs® rainwear line; and relocated rainwear production from Mexico to Asia, cutting manufacturing costs by 45%, improving product quality, reducing defective returns, and increasing sales by 500%. ▪ Led development and execution of Frogg Toggs® and “Field and Stream” licensed line of waders, boots, and wading products; and introduced nation’s 1st cooling towel, the “Chilly Pad.” ▪ Directed planning and development of all marketing collateral, industry catalogs, brochures, and pricing information. ▪ Oversaw P&L planning and execution, sales and marketing, forecasts, and pricing/profit strategies for multi-volume retailers, key buying groups, and multi-channel distributors. ▪ Worked directly with Frogg Toggs® Board of Directors beginning in 2006 with accountability for all aspects of sales, manufacturing and sourcing, as well as warehouse and logistic operations. ▪ Grew relationships and increased sales and distribution to key national accounts (Cabela’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Gander Mountain, Hibbetts Sports, Sportsman’s Warehouse, The Sports Authority, and WAL-MART) while maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing key accounts (Academy Sports and Bass Pro Shops).
