I began my career in 1988 as a bagger and worked up through various store clerking positions and department management. I rose through the ranks in support roles and ultimately became a Store Manager in 2000, and a supervisor in 2001. I was promoted to the position of Personnel Director in 2002 in which I supported 3 Districts, 67 stores, in 4 states with 9 separate bargaining agreements. My chief responsibilities included negotiation, interpretation and enforcement of the collective bargaining agreements, serving as a board member for the health and welfare fund, recruiting of management personnel, succession planning and leadership development.
