Daily Duties at Limbitless Solutions:
CAD Design Lead • Project goal: Utilize 3D printing to redesign and build a five-year-old boy’s full leg braces (orthotics). • Improved braces will feature: o Assistive walking: an artificial ligament will absorb between 25-75% of his body weight while walking, allowing the development of knee/leg muscles. o All material used will be easily re-printed or bought from local hardware stores. o Significantly reduced cost compared to traditional orthotics. • Performed extensive CAD and finite element analysis using SolidWorks and NX (Nastran). • Conducted complete stress and fatigue testing on prototype and artificial ligament. • Organization presented an “Iron Man” arm to a child in need alongside actor, Robert Downey Jr. • More information available on our website, Limbitless-solutions.org
