Daily Duties at Irvine Ranch Water District:

I was hired as the Oracle Technical Lead for the new Customer Care & Billing(CC&B) Project to ensure that it went live in 14 months from the time we began in May 2013 I was also responsible for the Analysis of the existing Oracle EBS Financials R12.13 system because it was not installed properly by the vendor back in 2011 and it has many issues today. My day-to-day responsibilities for CC&B were as follows: I was part of the core team consisting of 12 members, 10 Functional and two Technical. Total team size of people on site including the System integrator was more than 30 people. For the first 7 months we all attended CC&B workshops along with the System Integrator(Infosys) to get familiar with the functionality and to document the system with the Functional and Technical specifications and at the same time do the GAP analysis for the project. We had weekly team lead meetings and I was required to submit a weekly status report to my manager who is the Applications manager for the District. In our internal IT group we had a total of 11 people. Of those 11 people only two of us who were Technical were assigned to the CC&B Project. During this time we also had many Technical design meetings to discuss the 14 custom interfaces to be developed. I created all the internal technical Interfacedesign documents required for the project. These documents were reviewed and signed off by all members of the core team. After two months into the project both of us Technical people attended a Training class for 1 week which covered many of the technical aspects of the project, i.e. Configuration, batch processing, Portal creation, reporting etc. Once all the gaps were identified and all the documentation was completed and the code was developed(Off Shore) there were 3 phases of testing for the project; System Testing(ST), System Integration Testing(SIT) User acceptance Testing(UAT) The tool selected for our testing was called QTEST As the Technical Lead I was responsible for creating the outside vendor test scripts for Qtest for the SIT and UAT phases of the project. Outside vendors included meter readers and all the banks as well as our internal EBS system. During SIT and UAT testing we had daily meetings to discuss the defects/resolutions of all the issues. I was required to submit a daily status report for all 14 of the custom interfaces and these were reviewed by all core team members. Two months before go-live both of us technical people attended another training class on system configurations, batch processing and reporting. I was responsible for supporting the system during and after go-live on Aug 4 2014 My day-to-day responsibilities for the analysis of the existing R12.1.3 EBS system were as follows: For this effort I worked mostly alone and I was required to submit a final report after all my analysis was completed. I also submitted a weekly status report to the Applications manager. All the documentation for the project was placed on a shared drive in the system after it was installed back in 2011. I reviewed the GAP analysis document to determine how many customizations were made to the system and why they were made I also tried to determine why there were so many problems with the system. My analysis showed that the configuration setups for several of the modules like HR, Projects, GL and AP were not correct I created a large word document detailing all my findings I recommended a complete Health check to be done on the system to correct all the issues

What they like about Irvine Ranch Water District:

The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
