Daily Duties at Computer Generated Solutions (Cgs):

My role was as a Implementation Specialist, a full time employee of this company. This job was my entry point into the field of EMR software. I went thru a 3-4 week intensive classroom session, earning successful passing grades of 95% or more. My responsibilities were the following: - Installing the EMR application from a "Golden Disk" to individual desktops - Conducting Site Surveys, which involved drawing a set of detailed diagrams of the room location, the number of ports, which would include the number of Desktops, printers in a Clinic or Hospital. - After installing the software, I would conduct a functional test of the EMR, ensuring that features and basic screen navigation worked. - I was given Administrator access to setup roles within the EMR by Profession. For example the role of the Physician enabled full access to the patient history, ability to Order Medications, Labs and X-Rays, and to sign orders. If it was a Nurse role, there was slight difference, but the access to patient charts, medications, capabilities of the RN to order Labs, X-Rays and even medications thru a Physician. - In addition, I setup up roles for Clinic admissions clerks to create appointments, confirm patient with the correct SSN#, and in this case since it was Military, the setting up of a Profile which not only included the Soldier, but the Spouse and any children. - As a IS, my role involved troubleshooting, problem resolution and problem determination. - My role also involved providing onsite support after their Classroom training, setting up specific Illness Templates for Physicians, and Nurses.

What they like about Computer Generated Solutions (Cgs):

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
