Daily Duties at Strategic Program Support, Llc:

My responsibilities as a Contractor, was as a Healthcare Trainer, training Doctors, Nurses and Medical Records personnel on the HAIMS application. The contract called for 75%-100% travel. HAIMS is an IMAGE Repository database that stores X-Rays, PACS images, and LAB results. This type of information would be accessible by both the DoD and VA physicians so that determination of disability benefits can be processed faster for veterans of the IRAQ and Afghanistan wars. My role was to present classroom training, which included Powerpoint presentations and DEMO of the application in a training environment. Two trainers would work in concert, one person being the classroom instructor and the other trainer being the Driver. The roles of Instructor and driver would switch from class to class. Typical class size averaged 15-20 medical professionals. During the class, each user would specify time and place where as a Trainer I or my teammate could provide on the job support, "elbow" to a Doctor, Nurse, Records personnel. The main topics were how to use the HAIMS repository from within the EMR, (embedded) mode and in Standalone mode. The specific emphasis was placed on Medical Records personnel, whose responsibility was to edit and scan images into the HAIMS repository. We also had to train upfront the Clinical trainers associated with the Hospital/Clinic, and the IT Support Group of the Information Management Organization (IMO). We needed their support for technical issues such as Scanners, and User Passwords authentication.
