Daily Duties at Ca Technologies; Platinum Technology:

Team lead, CA Report Facility Responsible for the full life-cycle and team management of the CA Report Facility for DB2 for z/OS, a highly complex commercial software product that executes in the three major teleprocessing environments, CICS, IMS/TM, and TSO, and batch from essentially the same code-base. Architect, develop and implement highly innovative solutions to customer problems and requests through numerous releases using the waterfall and agile methodologies. The reports that can be generated are diverse and complex, ranging from a standard columnar report, a tabulation/summary report, block reports and extracts. Instrumental in the careful attention required to the most minute detail to ensure adequate performance and flexibility. Create a highly tuned COBOL and Assembler structure to drive the application through the equally tuned application environments. Distinct mentoring of team members to maintain the highly tuned nature of the code and a close knowledge of how that code impacts the performance of the application and environments in which it executes. Reduce the impact of the application on those environments, providing the performance requirements to allow for many more users to use the tool at once. - Provided configuration support for subsystems used by the product including DB2, CICS and IMS/TM. - Design new DB2 for z/OS database schemas as needed through application enhancements and DBMS upgrades - Evolve keen customer relationships to gather innovative ideas and requirements - Drive the product to a multimillion dollar product suite - Design a program style that is neatly structured and maintainable - Nurture internal relationships with marketing, sales and services to ensure that the product line was marketed, sold and implemented to its full potential including site visits to drive conversion efforts from competitor products
