Daily Duties at Oracle Corporation:

Deal Manager hired initially to handle third party deal contracting process from cradle to grave which included; working with Consulting Services Sales and third party provider to supply a person with the skills Oracle's customer needed even if it meant looking for someone offshore. Worked closely with many resource analysts and vendors at one time to find resources to fulfill Oracle's needs. In parallel, I worked with Sales to ensure all approvals and information was correct and current to ensure contracts were drafted correctly. Once resources were located, the contracting process began with basic templates. To mitigate Oracle's risk, I made sure we had proper approvals, complete and thorough executive summaries, checked to make sure Agreements for both the vendor and Customer were current and valid and that Sales supplied the information on the provided template to help draft initial contract. Sent newly drafted contracts to Sales to send to customer. If customer requested changes via redlined version, I performed comparison manually and worked with customer to negotiate terms we could both agree. I worked closely with legal and risk management to incorporate approved terms. Once approved by customer and it was signed, I countersigned contracts and prepared them for Purchasing department. I was responsible for imaging all contracts and backup paperwork into database for archives. After my first year as Deal Manager, I wanted something more challenging and so I began working on Acquisition subcontract files in addition to my regular work. Acquisition files add complexity due to the fact you must merge old company language with existing company language and sell that to the customer. I was very successful with acquisitions and completed the transition process for over 73 different companies from 2005 to 2012. In April 2007, I was promoted from Deal Manager to Subcontracts Manager and acquired a small team of 3 people. As the acquisitions and consulting work grew, my team grew to 14 people globally. As the only Subcontracts Manager globally, I was responsible for drafting, negotiating, imaging, incoming acquisitions, action plans for employees, reviews, development plans (if needed), training material given on web conferences and in person globally, team building exercises, cross training exercises, and anything needed for my team. I took initiative to take over contracting support for two additional groups, My SQL and Linux (Direct Contracts) to give my team a challenge and keep them learning.

What they like about Oracle Corporation:

Working for a company with an emphasis on social values and helping society is a clear and important priority for you - a critical factor in who you choose to work for. In contrast to other factors, you place an organization's reputation for fairness and concern for the community above most other aspects of the company. As you search for a new job opportunity, it is usually possible to find out if the company is involved in the community and/or if it is addressing problems and issues in society. Pay special attention to non-profit organizations and those specifically involved in social action. Moreover, speaking with current and former employees should enlighten you to perceptions of the fairness of the company's leaders and the treatment of employees.
