Daily Duties at Asahi Chemical Co. Ltd:

Manage the design and build of Bellefontaine plant built to supply Honda due to poor quality from other competitive suppliers. The first plant was 150K sq. ft. and expanded to 650k sq. ft. over 10 years. Worked with the plant manager and production managers hiring maintenance and production employees, established training for both and an apprenticeship program for maintenance. Established the safety and environmental programs and compliance, quality department, new product department, IT and application management department, as well work and process standard and instructions. Managed the build of plants in Kentucky, Tennessee, Canada, Alabama, Mexico and South America over the ten years. Establish in house engineering for tooling, and customer equipment build and commissioning due to the unique process requirements, loss time injuries, and process improvements. Managed with seven direct reports with 40 hourly employees per site with 11 engineers and environmental and safety management. I was promoted from Maintenance / Engineering manager to Chief Engineer in 1994 after implementing MAPICS across the organization for unified production planning, inventory control and financial control. The operating budget per site averaged 28 Million dollars with up to 10Million for improvements and equipment for process improvements.
