Daily Duties at Burlington Coat Factory:
Analyzed sales to decide what to reorder or what not to reorder, what to markdown. Traveled to market in NY and LA for the purpose of selecting saleable home décor product, building compelling assortments, negotiating profitable costs, writing purchase orders within open to buy, managed liquidity, shopped competition weekly, following up with written report and photographs, developed quarterly sales strategies by classification, directed and mentored Associate Buyer and Assistant Buyer, collaborated with Planning Team to analyze business, determine most productive use of open to buy, suggest markdowns and build financial strategies. Met weekly with Allocation Team to suggest and discuss optimal allocation by store cluster for incoming product. Consulted weekly and often daily with DMM (immediate boss) reviewing monthly calendar, sales, open to buy, future trends and strategies, action plans for building talent and team, growing Ecomm business
