Daily Duties at Unify, Formerly Siemens Communications:

Supporting Hosted and Cloud Communications Service Provider installations and account managers by providig pre-sales documentation and presentations and creating product change requests to resolve product deficiencies for hosted and Cloud environments as our products were not originally designed for hosted or cloud environments so enhancements were necessary to better support these environments. I worked for the VP of product management. Day-to-day activities were to support anyone on hosted installations, track newly entered change requests and ensure they were in the hosted database and properly prioritized. I also wrote my own change requests for changes that were required to better support these environments. Also responsible for creating product and enhancemment specifications to ensure that changes were implemented as required by the change requestor. These were then used by product development to ensure the change was implemented as required. Attended feature review meetings with development and other product managers to ensure that change requests were being tracked and worked as required and prioritized. Another responsibility was validating and verifying the requirements of Emergency 911 support with respect to the Siemens’ VoIP products and the requirements and laws of different countries and/or states. I also did the same for the emerging Next Generation 911 standards that will provide more accurate location determination and also support more media types, such as text, video, etc. Helped to support, from a product management point of view, the Siemens Cloud Communication project where we had redundant data centers located in the US and Europe (2 systems in each location). Siemens operated and supported the systems and we then recruited 3rd party partners to resell the service to end users and provide the first level of support to those users. My responsibility was to (1) share my Hosted Environment knowledge with the Cloud team, (2) Keep the Cloud team apprised of upcoming software releases and the associated feature content, (3) Manage product change requests coming from the Cloud team and their partners and end users and prioritizing them for inclusion into a product software release.
