Daily Duties at Science Applications International Coorporation (Saic):
Led SAIC's on-site Training and Exercise support of the Joint Task Force Elimination. Served as the Program Manager's representative on site and interface with Contract Officer Representative (COR). Ensured the time and effective programing of deliverable products and division of labor. Prepared monthly reports and monitored the status of contract funds required for the period of performance. Ensured that all support and projects were executed within programed budgetary projections. When surge requirements were identified, communicate those to the Program Manager and COR. Selected as the onsite lead for the JTF-E exercise Program. Developed the program from a concept to an actual functional program the first of its type in the unit. Taught the command's Training and Exercise Representatives the process for acquiring the use of Battle Command Training Centers (BCTC) and was selected to go to U.S. Forces Command Headquarters to represent the command's position reference their need for access to and the use of BCTC in order to have access to simulation capabilities. This was a success and the command's requirement was formally recognized for the first time ever. We started out with a mere 300 Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) implementers and that rapidly grew to over 1000. I was told to increase the complexity of the exercise events and integrated PhD academia members from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) taking the complexity to a all time high. Furthermore, I was selected to brief the Commander, U.S. Strategic Command, General Kehler, Commander, Joint Task Force Elimination, Brigadier General Smith, Director, Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Mr Myers, and Chief of Staff, Joint Elimination Coordination Element (JECE), Colonel Jones. During this briefing I disclosed that I had completely reconfigured the way that we developed exercises within the JTF-E that gave us better flexibility and more closely mirrored the way elimination would be conducted in concert with combat operations. I based my premis on the fact that intelligence drove maneuver, and the maneuver activities would drive elimination. General Kehler liked the presentation and prior to departing told me, "you have to tell us if we are getting this right."
What they like about Science Applications International Coorporation (Saic):
A hiring company that offers alternative approaches to pay, performance bonuses, and/or equity in the firm is very attractive to you. You're generally less interested in working for an organization offering only traditional, salary-based compensation, one with limited opportunity to acquire equity in the firm, or one that does not actively promote skill development. In addition, you are more likely to choose a company that offers a variety of internal career options, with defined career paths. You view the learning of new skills and development of your expertise as key to your career advancement. These aspects of an organization may become even more important to you as you progress in your field, and are especially critical if you change career or occupation.
