Daily Duties at Scholastic:

Responsible for launching the special markets department - recruiting and managed commission representatives to sell into the gift market (non bookstore accounts). A brand new area for the company. As well as building a new internal team to oversea the specialty retail area as well as manage new business. Managed all custom publishing projects from conception (idea) to execution (selling, editing and contracts). New department for the company -very entrepreneurial area where all things new stemmed from. We managed very much like a marketing (creating our own catalog and sales materials) operations (reviewing vendor contracts -to open accounts) to selling. Responsible for marketing/selling brands such as Harry Potter, clifford the Big Red Dog, and Dreamworks Shrek.
