Daily Duties at Town Of Upland, Indiana :
As a Town Manager, 50% of my responsibilities were mayoral duties and 50% were utilities director duties. Being responsible for a “University Town’s” assets as well as the water, wastewater, street and park departments was extremely challenging. It enabled me to demonstrate my ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects. I also signed all legal documentation for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. Collectively, this consisted of inspecting and analyzing all departments' facilities, scheduling employees work, initiating and implementing all improvement plans, approving and signing all Town building permits, hiring and or disciplining all employees and supervising emergency situations. I communicated expectations and needed improvements / changes with the Police Marshall regarding the Police Department and with the Fire Chief regarding the volunteer fire department. This consisted of 12 full-time employees total, (10 full-time employees supervised by me with up to 4 part-time seasonal employees hired).
