Daily Duties at Commdex:
My responsibilities vary. Typically I am dedicated to a project for at least a year. I have done pre-sales engineering for Motorola and have helped manage a post-sale coverage acceptance test for a major metropolitan area. I am currently working on a a post-sale implementation for a major metropolitan rail and bus organization. I have also done a substantial amount of technical writing (proposal, etc.). I work independently for the most part, acting as the lead engineer on my current project. I was also the lead technical resource for my company on the coverage acceptance test and acted as the lead on one of the three Motorola pre-sale opportunities on which I was involved. Responsibilities have included (currently and in the past), writing proposals and design documents in Word, creating PowerPoint customer presentations, performing data analysis in Excel, creating coverage acceptance test maps and prepping test kits for coverage acceptance tests, attending customer meeting and conference calls, fielding technical questions from customers, and creating design drawings in Visio. I also know how to use PathLoss for microwave path profile design, although I have never used it on a project.
