Daily Duties at United States Air Force:
Chief of Environmental Policy and Compliance, Holloman, AFB Supervised team of 10 environmental inspectors continuously inspecting every area of Holloman Air Force Base for possible EPA and OSHA violations. Arranged cleanup of illegally stored hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Wrote easy-to-follow base environmental policy rules to maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and USAF regulations. Consulted at hazardous material spill site. Researched pre-spill conditions that might improve early spill detection in the future. Oversaw spill clean-up efforts. Organized environmental training programs for the base and civilian communities. Chief of F-117A Weapons and Tactics 8th Fighter Sq. Holloman, AFB Piloted the F-117A Stealth fighter. Trained 35 pilots in F-117A weapons and tactics and enemy threat systems. Planned and led military operations that involved coordination of multinational assets. Protected the integrity of highly classified materials. Worked closely with the intelligence community in the acquisition of materials and information to improve the survivability and combat capability of one of only two Stealth Fighter Squadrons in the world. A-10A Flight Commander, Weapons Officer Davis-Monthan, AFB Supervised five instructors and fifteen upgrading pilots. Programmed complex mandatory ground and flying training for all squadron pilots. Responsible for all phases of student training to guarantee on-time graduation. Led squadron deployments to major training exercises. Was responsible for deployment of ten A-10A aircraft, fifteen pilots, and over fifty support personnel and associated equipment necessary to maintain flying operations for a month while at a deployed location. Designed and taught a comprehensive bombing improvement program that was bench marked by other squadrons in the wing. Recognized by the Tactical Air Command as the 1990 A-10A Instructor Pilot of the Year.
