Daily Duties at Tandem Computers :
Developed and delivered a R10000 based high-end NSK/UNIX fault tolerant server design. Formed and managed the team from scratch. Created the overall project schedule. Helped define the goal, architecture, performance, PCB and ASIC technology for the project. Designed processor interface ASIC and mother board. Senior Technical Leader of Kernel sub-system of a fault tolerant RISC based server from concept to lab bring up. Defined the system architecture of the server with two cross coupled R4400s for greater data integrity. The team designed one CMOS 100K ASIC and a custom BiCMOS SRAM module for secondary cache. I was the first person at Tandem to successfully run Guardian operating system at 1MHz under Quickturn hardware emulation environment to verify the ASIC design. Technical Leader of Control Unit of a fault tolerant mainframe computer from concept to shipment. Designed 1MByte fault tolerant Control Store with custom memory modules. The team designed three ECL ASICs and one 18x18 PCB.
